This year's Golf Day will be held on the 21st of June at Naunton Downs Golf Club in Cheltenham and will see the introduction of the John Brain Memorial Cup. The Cup has been donated by John's family and the day will see his son-in-law play in one of the teams.
Proceeds from the day will go to the Rugby Football Foundation, which supports community rugby.
King's School Events Manager, Marilyn Wheeler, says:
"We were more than happy to introduce the John Brain Memorial Cup as the winning trophy for this year's team. The school archives show that John was a very active member of the school community and we are immensely proud of what he went on to achieve.
"We would very much welcome teams from the rugby community to take part in the day and join former pupils from John's era, as well as from more recent years, in celebrating his love of golf and being part of a team in this way."
Anyone wishing to submit a team or enter as an individual can download the information from the school website at http://www.thekingsschool.co.uk/alumni/events/golf-day-2013/ or contact Marilyn via firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01452 337337.
