Gloucester Rugby teams up again with Ticket for Troops
20 September 2016
Gloucester Rugby is delighted to confirm that the club has teamed up once again with Tickets for Troops to make tickets available for certain home games at Kingsholm this season starting with Newcastle Falcons this coming Saturday.
Tickets for Troops provides free tickets to members of the Armed Forces for a variety of sporting, musical and cultural events.
The service offers serving personnel and those medically discharged from the forces since 2001, the well-deserved opportunity to enjoy an event of their choice with their friends and families.
Gloucester Rugby has always valued its links with all of the Armed Forces. The Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire regiments amalgamated with 3 other Regiments to form The Rifles in 2007 and have a long association with Gloucester.
The Rifles Cup was presented to the club by the regiment to mark the long standing bond of friendship between the club and the soldiers of Gloucestershire. The Rifles Cup is competed for when Gloucester and Bristol play in league games.
CEO Stephen Vaughan confirmed:
“At Gloucester Rugby, we are proud to say that we have an excellent relationship with the Armed Forces, particularly the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps who are based locally at Imjin Barracks.
“Our links with the Rifles is well known and we are looking forward to competing for the Rifles Cup again this season with Bristol Rugby after a gap of several seasons.
“Tickets for Troops is an excellent initiative and we are proud to be participating.”
