Gloucester-Hartpury Women looking to attract up and coming rugby talent.
31 October 2016
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for girls aged 15 to 18 to pull on the Cherry and White shirt!
The Gloucester-Hartpury women’s team is building on its incredible success on the pitch in recent seasons by expanding to invite girls aged 15 to 18 to join them.
The aim is to develop a competitive Gloucester-Hartpury Under-18s team, as well as being a feeder for the senior side, who are currently flying high at the top of Championship Midlands Two and are building towards competing in the Women’s Premiership in future.
The move to start up a junior section is in response to growing demand, with lots of the Under-18s girls' rugby players at Hartpury College keen to be part of the Gloucester-Hartpury set-up and pull on the famous Cherry and White shirt as well as representing the College.
Gloucester-Hartpury Head Coach, Susie Appleby said:
"Our senior club is blossoming and this is the natural progression for us to start a youth section, particularly as we've had lots of interest from younger players and girls turning up at training really keen to play for us.
"The plan, which has the support of the Rugby Football Union, is to start up a team that can be competitive at Under-18s level but we will also nurture and develop these players with the long term aim of them becoming a strong base for our senior side."
So why not come along to a training session and see if you could have a big future with Gloucester-Hartpury?
The new Under-18s set-up will kick off on November 1st, training on Tuesdays from 5.45pm to 7.15pm and on Sundays from 10.30am to 12pm at Hartpury College.
If you are interested in being part of this exciting new development, simply turn up at a training session, or, for more information e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or make contact on the Facebook page GloucesterHartpuryWRFC or on Twitter @Glos_PuryWRFC
