Thank You from Gloucester Rugby

The players, coaching team and all Gloucester Rugby staff would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every Club Member, 1873 Club Member, Box Holder, Partner and fan for their unbelievable support throughout the season, both at Kingsholm and across Europe.

DFP – MPU Placement

The Cherry and Whites finished in third place, our highest domestic finish since 2010, the squad showed huge promise and potential, and marked the end of an exciting campaign by reaching the Gallagher Premiership Rugby Playoff Semi-Final.

The 2018-19 season was full of incredible results and amazing memories. The sight of thousands of our supporters packed into the stands at Allianz Park was incredible to see, and highlighted the buzz around Gloucester Rugby after a season of progress both on and off the field.

As the season draws to a close, we are very sorry to be saying goodbye to some of our players who are leaving us. Yesterday, we announced that two great players – Gareth Evans and Henry Purdy – will be departing Gloucester Rugby.

Gareth has been with the Club for 10 years, making 85 appearances since his debut in 2012. Henry has been with the club for five seasons, making 81 appearances whilst scoring an outstanding 28 tries in the process. Both players have shown amazing commitment to the Club and will be greatly missed by teammates, fans and staff alike. We wish them both the very best in their future endeavours.

As previously confirmed, we would also like to wish Gareth Denman, Paddy McAllister, Will Safe, Tom Savage, Mike Sherry, Kyle Traynor and Ben Vellacott good luck in their careers and thank them for their valued contribution to the Cherry & Whites.

We are also sad to say goodbye to Richard Whiffin who has done a fantastic job heading up the Gloucester Rugby Academy for the last few years.  We wish him all the best in his new role at Scarlets Rugby.

Lastly, we bid farewell to a number of young players from the Gloucester Rugby Academy who will be moving. Best wishes go to Callum Allen, Dom Coetzer, Ewan Fenley, Joe Mullis and Cameron Terry who have given their all when called upon.

As we look forward to the 2019-20 season, please watch out for news from the Club.
