New Zealand born forward, Ti Tauasosi, capped at international level by Singapore, is the latest player to join Gloucester-Hartpury Women ahead of the 2019-20 Tyrrells Premier 15s season.
Born in Auckland, Ti has spent the vast majority of her career playing overseas. From 2011-14, she played for Bedok Kings Rugby Club, Singapore before moving to Japan and representing Tokyo Phoenix, Nagata Blue Angels and Azalea Sports Club in Tokyo, Yamaguchi and Shizuoka respectively.
Capped at 7s and 15s level for Singapore, she has also represented the region of Kanto in 15s in Japan.
However, she’s now going to give top flight rugby in England a go, and can’t wait to get started!
“I’ve been living in Asia for the past ten years so this is a bit of a transition into the Western world! But it’s been good so far.
“Most recently I was in Shizuoka which is near Mount Fuji, and before that I was down in the country in Yamaguchi. I started life in Japan in Tokyo having moved from Singapore so I’ve moved around a bit!
“They play mostly 7s in Japan, and I really wanted to give 15s another go, so when the opportunity came to come over and play for Gloucester-Hartpury, I saw it as a great chance to play rugby in a new environment and experience a different culture.
“I’m told not many Kiwis have played in the Tyrrells Premier 15s, so perhaps I can set the benchmark! I can’t wait to start, I’m just excited to play and represent Gloucester-Hartpury.”
