Ahead of Saturday’s Tyrrells Premier 15s opener at Firwood Waterloo, Gloucester-Hartpury Women can confirm the signing of Wales international fly-half Lleucu George.
The 20-year-old started out in the back row, and made her first start for Wales as a blindside flanker when she was just 17 years old.
However, she has since moved to the back line and is capable of playing fly-half or centre. An accomplished goal-kicker, she held her nerve earlier this year to kick a last-gasp conversion to clinch a Six Nations victory for Wales over Scotland.
Gloucester-Hartpury Women Head Coach Susie Appleby feels that Lleucu will be a valuable addition to the squad.
“Lleucu is such a talented sportswoman and it’s no surprise that she’s capable of performing in the back row or at half-back.
“But it’s at fly-half that she’s really shone in recent times, possessing a fine tactical kicking game as well as being understandably strong in contact.
“She’s really looking forward to testing herself in the Tyrrells Premier 15s and will add real quality to our squad.”
