To celebrate the heritage & history of Gloucester Rugby, our technical kit provider Oxen have designed this unique shirt which we are delighted to announce that the Gloucester Rugby team will wear in our match against the Exeter Chiefs on Valentine’s Day, Friday 14 February 2020, (kick off is at 7.45pm and tickets for this match go on sale on Monday 16 December).

We are also designating this as the “Gloucester Rugby Heritage” match and we will be sharing news in the new year about lots of exciting plans on how we plan to celebrate our heritage with fans!

So – why is the shirt black & purple?

Whilst Gloucester Rugby is famous for being the “Cherry & Whites” the first shirt Gloucester Rugby wore in 1873 was in fact purple & black, before we switched to Blue then Black, Red and Yellow, and finally of course Cherry & White!

This specially designed heritage shirt by Oxen is available to purchase now and had been developed as a celebration of Gloucester Rugby’s rich history and heritage.  The third replica shirt of the Gloucester Rugby 2019-20 season features the names of past and present Gloucester Players within a Black and Purple traditional hooped design.

The Heritage shirt is launched alongside a complimentary off-field range in the black & purple colourways. Available to purchase in-store & online now in Adult, Ladies and Junior sizes priced at £55 for senior sizes & £40 for junior sizes. You can buy now by clicking HERE

Current and former players recently met together and are featured wearing this special shirt.

The players are:

Former Gloucester Rugby players Fred Reed, Andy Deacon, Sinbad (James Simpson-Daniel) and two of our current senior squad Ben Morgan and Jake Polledri.
