King excited by working with “superb” Cherry & Whites
11 August 2020
Alex King had a spring in his step as he checked into the Gloucester Rugby training facility for the first time on Monday.
The newly-appointed Attack Coach immersed himself straight into the action at Hartpury, as the first game back awaits at the end of the week.
King was impressed with the “huge amount of energy on display” as he praised the hard-working Cherry & Whites. Premiership Rugby round 14 action will kick off on Friday night before Gloucester Rugby head to Sixways on Saturday for a 12.30pm kick off against Worcester Warriors.
“I think it’s been 170-odd days since the boys last played, so everyone is chomping at the bit to get out there on Saturday”, added King.
WHAT CAN THE PLAYERS EXPECT?
The former Premiership winning Coach urged the players to work hard, but to enjoy their rugby, and make the Shed proud.
On putting his stamp on the Cherry & White attack, King intends to utilise the skillsets of the players to develop a strong identity.
TAKING ON THE ROLE
“As a coaching group we just want to improve, and get better from where we finished the season, and see how far we can get up that league” said King.
King added that there is plenty of positives to build on from last year, and backs the “superb” players to face the challenge in front of them head on.
