The core objective of the Engage programme is to develop young peoples’ confidence and motivation to learn. This is achieved by focusing on a skills-based approach to engage students through a wide range of multi-sensory approaches instilling a sense of fun, enthusiasm and positivity for learning.
Gloucester Rugby’s Community Education team have worked to develop the Engage programme based around the principles of rugby – respect, teamwork, discipline, enjoyment and sportsmanship.
Each week, the students focus on one of these strands. The activities are concentrated around this central theme intertwined with practical kinesthetic challenges, asking students to apply and develop their interpersonal skills, thinking skills and other cross-curricular skills from the curriculum.
Students can expect to take part in activities as diverse as physical challenges, problem-solving, logic games, all incorporating fun & engaging tasks.
