EDF Cup is back
The EDF Energy U14s Schools Cup is an annual competition open to all schools across Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire. It is a knockout competition allowing each school to play at least two games, with the final being held at Kingsholm Stadium in May.
It is so good to get the EDF cup back up and running after two years off due to Covid, it gives schools a chance to play others in a fun a competitive way.
EDF Energy said:
“We have a proud record of supporting grassroots rugby and we are pleased to continue to support Gloucester Rugby Community and this tournament. This is a great competition for schools across Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire and we wish them well as they battle it out for a chance to play at Kingsholm.”
This year it is running slightly differently, having two different sides of the draw for the first two rounds of fixtures to help reduce travel. Gloucester City & Forest of Dean have combined to make one side and Cheltenham, West Oxfordshire & Stroud and Cirencester making up the other.
The first-round draw was held live at Kingsholm stadium yesterday with the help from Seb Nagle-Taylor and Jack from EDF. These fixtures must be played by 5th November.
