Mixed Ability Rugby sessions will enable people over the age of 16 to play in the same team regardless of whether they have a disability or not.

Gloucester Rugby’s Terry Fanolua will be leading the coaching and says:

“This is a great example of why rugby is a sport for everyone. I am very excited to be involved in promoting the sport, and involved in the setup of similar teams across the county.”

Mixed Ability Rugby is a perfect way for players of all abilities, disabilities – be in mental or physical – to get involved in the sport and give it a go.

The sport provides a new set of rules for contact and non-contact players, giving every participant the chance to develop new skills, learn about rugby’s CORE values and make new friends in a relaxed and sociable environment.

The Gloucester Rugby Community Charity team has already seen the creation of the Gloucester Griffins, based out of Longlevens RFC and has moved the programme to Cainscross RFC.

For anyone interested in joining the team or would simply like more information, please do not hesitate to contact Terry by email at terryfanolua@gloucesterrugby.co.uk or Helen Chu on 01452 872275.
