A total of 14 Gloucester-Hartpury players featured between the England and Wales squads the the final round of Rugby World Cup 2021 pool games in New Zealand.

Four Gloucester-Hartpury players featured in the match day 23 for the Red Roses' for their 75-0 win over South Africa at Waitakere Stadium in Auckland.

Hooker Connie Powell started into the pack, having been on the bench for the Red Roses win over France last week.

Centre Tatyana Heard was named Player of the Match in her first start of the tournament.

Prop Maud Muir & Second-row Zoe Aldcroft were among the replacements, the latter after starting both of the Red Roses previous games against Fiji and France.

There were also ten Gloucester-Hartpury players in Ioan Cunningham's Wales squad for their narrow loss to Australia at the Northlands Events Centre in Whangarei.

Hannah Jones kept her place in the centre and was handed back the captaincy, with Gloucester-Hartpury teammate Lisa Neumann also joining her in the backline.

An all Gloucester-Hartpury front row saw Cerys Hale come in at tight-head to join club teammates Cara Hope and Kelsey Jones.

Gwenn Crabb started in the second-row after being deployed in the back-row in their defeat to the Black Ferns.

Bethan Lewis switched from open-side to blind-side flanker.

Among the replacements were Wales squad captain Siwan Lillicrap who won her 50th cap when she came on in the 69th minute.

Sisilia Tuipulotu and Kerin Lake also featured.
