Gloucester-Hartpury begin their 2022/23 season with a trip to Harlequins in the Allianz Cup.

With significant representation in Rugby World Cup squads, a new look Gloucester-Hartpury squad features 8 debutants.

Irish international Neve Jones captains the team at hooker, with Kathryn Buggy and debutant Laura Delgado as her props. Liliana Popadec and Gab Skov are also new signings in the second row.

Alice Burtonshaw and Georgia Brock start as flankers, with Sarah Beckett, who signed from Harlequins in the summer, packing down at number 8.

There are two debutants in the back line. Lizzie Goulden comes in at fly-half and Liv Jones on the wing.

Partnering Goulden is Bianca Blackburn at scrum-half. Sophie Bridger and Sophie Tandy start at centre. And Ellie Rugman and Mia Venner join Liv Jones in the back three.

Abbey Constable and Jayne Isherwood are the two new players among the replacements. They are joined by El Gilbert, Ranni Samuda, Jordan Russell, Eeva Pohjaneimo, Mo Hunt and Emma Mundy.

Captain Neve Jones is positive the new players can step up into the shoes of the missing internationals.

"We have loads of new players in which is great to see and we've really united as a squad which has been great.

"It's a great time for the new girls to put their best foot forward and shine through before the other girls come back."
