Gloucester Rugby travel to Bath on Saturday October 8 (3pm KO) in their third game of the 2022/23 Gallagher Premiership season.

A dramatic comeback win in the season opener at Kingsholm over Wasps was followed by a bye week before a last minute loss to Saracens in North London two weeks ago. Last weekend's home fixture against Worcester was cancelled giving the players an extra week to wait to right the wrongs of the Saracens game.

Fly-half Adam Hastings believes the tough lessons they've learnt over the last two weeks can push the squad on against Bath.

"It's horrible to be honest, when you lose and you have a week off and you have that extra time to stew on things.

"That first week was tough looking at moments where we believe we could have won the match but I think it will be beneficial for us in the long run."

Hastings insists there is no extra motivation needed when the derby comes around but says it's always nice to get one over on his former club.

"There's always a little bit extra there with it being a derby day and the way the fans are gives us an extra edge.

"The Rec's a cool little stadium and the fans get right on top of you and we're looking forward to that."

The Cherry & Whites defeated Bath in their meeting in the Premiership Rugby Cup ten days ago and Hastings praised the young side.

"I thought they were outstanding, the young boys in the Premiership Cup team have been going great and are stepping up now in the first team so that's great."
