Gloucester-Hartpury are delighted to reveal the signing of Canadian-born England international, Mackenzie Carson.

Carson makes the switch to the Premier 15s champions from Saracens.

Born and raised in British Columbia, Carson rose through the Canadian age-grade system, winning her first of three senior caps for Canada against England in 2018.

Ahead of the 2018/19 season, Carson made the move to Bristol Bears, where she spent on season before moving on to Saracens.

Having completed the World Rugby three-year international stand down period and qualifying to play for the Red Roses through her English mother, Carson was called up by England Head Coach, Simon Middleton, ahead 2023 Women's Six Nations Championship.

Carson will add versatility to the squad on the pitch, having played Premier 15s rugby at prop, hooker and back row.

Off the field, Carson is a level 2 RFU coach and worked with Saracens' charitable arm, the Saracens Foundation for which she gained recognition of her efforts by being nominated for the Community Coach of the Year Award by Premiership Rugby in 2022.

Gloucester-Hartpury Head Coach, Sean Lynn, commented:

"It's fantastic to be able to bring a player of Mackenzie's quality to Gloucester-Hartpury.

"She's clearly very talented and someone that's very much in the frame for the Red Roses and her versatility will be a huge asset for us too.

"Most importantly, we could see that she'll fit in well with the group and we're sure she'll be a great addition to the team both on and off the field."
