Jack Clement starts for Gloucester at open-side flanker tonight as the Cherry & Whites open their Premiership Cup campaign at home to Worcester Warriors. Clement spoke about the opportunity the cup gives young players the chance to battle for a regular starting spot.

ON HIS FIRST START OF THE SEASON

“It’s my first run out of the year and I’m really looking forward to it. A home game at Kingsholm is never boring so hopefully we get a good crowd out and we can put together a big performance and get the win”.

ON THE TALENT OF THE YOUNG TEAM

“It’s the first opportunity for a lot of us this season and there’s a really good group of young lads who are chomping at the bit to break through. The senior squad is massively competitive now so any opportunity to wear the Cherry & White of Gloucester is huge”.

ON CHALLENGING FOR A REGULAR STARTING SPOT

“It’s a great chance for us to put our hand up and show the coaches what we can do and why we think we should be starting on Saturday. I can’t wait to get out there tomorrow!”

“It’s a great opportunity to see people come down after work and hopefully we can put on a show for those that come down tonight”.
