Gloucester Rugby fans have helped raise over £10k for the Gloucester Rugby Foundation thanks to Freemans Event Partners’ use of Event Cup Solutions’ ONE Planet One Chance® reusable cup system.

The solution was introduced to Gloucester Rugby by Freemans Event Partners who provide the complete bar service for the club. Cherry and White fans have fully bought into the campaign, donating their One Planet ONE Chance ® Cups into the collection bins at Kingsholm Stadium.

For each cup that is donated into the bins, £1 is raised for the Gloucester Rugby Foundation to help run projects like wheelchair rugby, walking rugby, HITZ and the veteran’s project.

The money will help ensure that our programmes are sustainable and will ensure that we can continue to help support young people gain employability skills and qualifications, prevent social isolation and keep people active regardless of ability.

Gloucester Rugby’s Community and Foundation Manager, Helen Chu, is delighted to have raised such a large amount of money.

“It’s great that this campaign has raised so much as it will really help us as we continue to make a difference to the local community.

“We really want to encourage more Gloucester Rugby fans to donate their cups as the money raised has a direct impact on people’s lives.”

Freemans Event Partners’ Bars Director, John Freeman, is pleased to be supporting the Gloucester Rugby Foundation.

“It’s great that this initiative has been able to raise such a significant amount of money for the Gloucester Rugby Foundation.

“Not only are we helping raise money for such a good cause, but the use of the ONE Planet ONE Chance ® cups is also contributing to our sustainability goals so it is really positive that these cups are making such a great impact in these two areas.”

In addition to the cash raised for the Gloucester Rugby Foundation, Event Cup Solutions (the company behind the ONE planet ONE Chance ® scheme) and Freemans Event Partners offset the carbon emissions from transporting and washing the cups to and from the Kingsholm Stadium. This is achieved through a UK tree planting project. To date this season 146 trees have been planted to offset the 25 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
