Gloucester Rugby travel to Twickenham to take on Harlequins in the Gallagher Premiership on Saturday. After a week with no game, George Skivington is looking forward to the fixture.

On preparing for Harlequins

“It’s been good so far. The sun was shining today which has been great. The boys have been working really hard and we didn’t have a game last week so it was a good opportunity to freshen up and revisit a couple of areas of the game.”

On using the rest week

“We had the week off which has been a positive after a disappointing knock-out in the quarter-final. We had a few days off and had some time away from the club and each other and just relaxed. Then we came in at the back end of the week and worked really hard. There were a couple of areas from the Saracens game that we wanted to touch on and then training has been as normal this week.”

On playing at Twickenham

“We’re aware that we’re going to Twickenham and it’s a big stadium and Quins throw a party really well there traditionally. There will obviously be a lot going on around the place and around the stadium and in the stadium as well with a concert going on beforehand. We’ve talked about that but in regards to how we are approaching the game, it’s back to what we do week to week.”

On Harlequins’ threats

“They’re a quality team. They’re the champions of England. They’ve got some quality players and they look like they enjoy what they do. There are threats across the board and I don’t see them as a team with a particular weakness. They seem to be very well connected and as I said, they look like they enjoy what they are doing which is really important when you’re in this profession. I have a lot of respect for them and I’ve watched a lot of them so we know the challenges that are coming. There are also some quality players in there who can do some things that you can’t plan for. You’ve got to be ready for anything.

“We’re trying to stress ourselves in training as much as we can. It’s going to be a big day, a big event and it’s exciting.”

On the end of the season

“We’ve got two big games left and if we come away with the right results, it’s all to play for. They are big games and we are very much just focusing on going down to Twickenham on Saturday. It’s a big occasion and Harlequins are making a big thing out of it and we should embrace that and go down and give it our best shot.”
