Gloucester Rugby resume their Gallagher Premiership season tomorrow evening when they travel to Twickenham to face Harlequins.

Head coach George Skivington predicts a tough encounter against the 2021 Premiership winners.

"They're a quality team, champions two years ago. They manage to find ways out when they get into sticky spots and when they pull ahead, they pull ahead really well, so it's going to be an extremely tough challenge at the Stoop on Friday night."

In the Premiership, the Cherry & Whites lost back to back games for the first time this season in rounds 9 & 10, and Skivington admits the games against Sale and Newcastle gave his team plenty to work on.

"We learnt a lot of lessons over those two weeks and we weren't happy with the outcome of the game. We know we weren't good enough and we have been very honest about that, we have revisited a few things. The attitude from the boys was never in doubt but we need to execute better and we can't allow teams to run off like they did.

"The losses have been extremely hard to take but the flip side is there's a lot of young lads that have learnt some lessons thick and fast."

Last weekend the Cherry & Whites battled to a 38-31 win over Bristol Bears in the Premiership Rugby Cup, and Skivington was impressed with what he saw.

"I thought it was a really good performance. There was some young lads, and some having their first hit out in a Gloucester jersey and I thought the energy was brilliant and we played some good rugby."

"Bristol sent a good team and challenged us, they scored a couple of tries but they boys managed to get the win so really positive."
