A youthful Gloucester-Hartpury side were defeated 21-22 at the Alpas Arena on Saturday afternoon, meaning visitors Saracens progressed to the final of this season's Allianz Cup.

Saracens outscored Gloucester-Hartpury by four tries to three to claim their place in the final.

Tries from Rachel Lund, Sophie Bridger and Emma Sing, and six points from the boot of the England full-back weren't enough for the Cherry & Whites.

The away side only took the lead for the first time in the 76th minute, with Charlotte Clapp's second try of the afternoon.

Sing had the opportunity to put her side into the final with a last-minute penalty, but her effort from half-way fell short.

Saracens play Exeter Chiefs in the final, whilst Gloucester-Hartpury welcome Bristol Bears to the Alpas Arena in the third-place play-off on Sunday.

The third-place play-off kicks off at 2pm, and is free entry.

Gloucester-Hartpury's hunt for silverware isn't over this season though, they're already guaranteed a spot in the Allianz Premier 15s play-offs. Sean Lynn's side will be boosted by the return of a significant number of internationals, who are currently away on Six Nations duty.

The final of this season's Allianz Premier 15s will be held at Kingsholm on Saturday 24 June, and tickets can be purchased here.
