Gloucester-Hartpury have bolstered their forwards stock ahead of the run in of the Premier 15s and Allianz Cup season with the signing of 22-year-old Welsh international Kate Williams.

Williams was born in Swansea before emigrating to New Zealand where she was raised.

She played 24 games at openside for North Harbour Hibiscus in New Zealand’s NPC and was skipper in her last 10 games. She scored tries in three successive appearances in 2021.

She also made one appearance for the Blues against the Chiefs in Super Rugby Aupiki in 2021.

With injuries in the Wales camp, Williams received her maiden Wales call-up ahead of Wales' Rugby World Cup quarter-final against the Black Ferns in October. She made her international debut in Wales' 31-5 win over Ireland last weekend and has been named in their matchday 23 to take on Scotland this weekend.

Williams will link up with the squad at the conclusion of the TikTok Women's Six Nations campaign.

Gloucester-Hartpury Head Coach, Sean Lynn, is delighted to add Williams to the squad.
