The Gloucester Rugby Foundation has partnered with Gloucestershire children’s charity the Pied Piper Appeal to bring you an all new Sportive for 2021, benefitting both charities.

Jumping back into the saddle after being cancelled in 2020, the Sportive event is in its 7th year and now happening on Sunday 18 July at Kingsholm. In the fresh air, cycling has never been so popular and the Kingsholm-based Sportive is back with a choice of 3 routes.

By riding in the Gloucester Sportive you will be raising money for disadvantaged people living in Gloucestershire which include those that may be lonely and isolated, people that are homeless or experienced homelessness, people living with a disability, and sick and disabled children.

Your entry fee will be shared between both charities:

Said Helen Chu, Gloucester Rugby Foundation: “We are always looking for new and exciting ways to raise funds for the Foundation and by partnering with long term friends, the Pied Piper who have been running a Sportive for many years at Kingsholm, it made sense to now join forces and use the reach of Gloucester Rugby in delivering a charity cycling event for our members.”

Entry for the short route is just £25 and the mid and longer routes are £35 - ENTER HERE

It’s £40 on the day registration. All 3 routes start and end at Kingsholm and head west out of Gloucester and then make their way into the beautiful Forest of Dean.

No further fundraising is required, just your entry fee is most welcome.

“The Sportive is now in its 7th year and partnering with Gloucester Rugby gives us the platform we need to encourage more riders to take part and benefit both causes, plus grow the event. Cycling has become so popular in the last year and remains a safe and socially distanced event in the fresh air, and a great way to stay healthy and boost wellbeing,” said Pied Piper trustee Cathryn Hage.
