On 1 December at our Gallagher Premiership clash against Worcester Warriors, we are asking supporters coming to Kingsholm to join us in donating anything they can to those in need at the beginning of the Festive Period.

We know the Gloucester Rugby supporters are a very generous bunch, and we would like you to join the club in providing cans of food or produce, socks or any underwear, clothes to help us support those less fortunate in the run up to Christmas.

Gloucester Rugby will be collecting items prior to the game to distribute in the weeks leading up to Christmas, and details on how you can donate your items in the lead up to the game will be provided soon.

Gloucester Rugby’s commitment to help the local community, and those in need stems from a huge effort from the Gloucester Rugby Academy squad, who for the past few years have volunteered their time to help two local charities with support and effort in order for them to deliver such a vital service to those in need across the county – services which are stretched over the winter months.

Gloucester Rugby’s Academy Performance Manager Kevin Mannion explains that the work is key part of the development of the young players at Gloucester Rugby.

“We are calling on the generosity of the Gloucester Rugby supporters this December to join with the players and staff at the club in donating to those less fortunate, whilst we support Gloucester City Mission, and Gloucester Feed The Hungry.

“This year’s group of Academy players thrive when we ask them to spend their time helping the Homeless, and meeting new people, hearing their stories and it really helps them understand the importance of the local community to them as rugby players.”

All donations will be gratefully accepted.
