Gloucester Rugby’s Santiago Carreras played a key role in Argentina’s 20-20 draw with Wales at the Principality Stadium on Saturday.

Making 39 metres in just four runs, the Cherry and White flyer had a good game until suffering a nasty head injury trying to tackle Josh Turnbull.

The Pumas spent much of the game down to 14 men after full-back Juan Cruz Mallia was shown a red card after 29 minutes for a reckless tackle on Kieran Hardy.

Gloucester Rugby’s Matias Alemanno was named on the bench but wasn’t called upon. He will hope to be in action for his country when two sides meet again in the second Test in Cardiff next Saturday (15:00 BST).

England

Lewis Ludlow ran out as captain for the second time in two weeks at Twickenham when he led England to a 70-14 win over Canada.

Scoring 10 tries, including a penalty try, Eddie Jones’ side were completely dominant and in the second half it looked like Ludlow had got over for a try of his own until the TMO deemed that the ball had been passed forward in the maul.

As captain, Ludlow led England in two successful tests and will hope to be involved in the set up again come the Autumn.

British and Irish Lions

Chris Harris started at inside centre for the British and Irish Lions in their match against the Cell C Sharks and was quick to get over the try line for his first score in the Lions shirt.

Taking the ball from Duhan van de Merwe, Harris collected the ball within the first five minutes kick starting a 71-31 victory.

It was a high scoring occasions and The Lions were tested as the Sharks played with an attacking confidence and flare that posed more questions that the previous warm up fixtures.

However, Warren Gatland's side was too strong and they were able to keep their winning momentum alive as they creep closer to the test matches against South Africa.
