Lewis Ludlow has been named as captain for the England A clash against Scotland A on Sunday 27 June.

The Cherry and White Academy graduate was awarded the 2020-21 Gloucester Rugby Player of the Season award following his first year as captain at Kingsholm and now his efforts have been recognised at an international level.

Starting at blindside flanker, Ludlow is one of 11 uncapped players in the team and whilst caps will not be awarded for this game it is set to be a great opportunity ahead of the rest of the summer fixtures.

England Head Coach for the game John Mitchell said: “This squad has grown over the past few weeks, is full of energy and competition and the players have given their all.

“Now the next step is for us to work even harder at becoming more cohesive in our final stages of our preparation.

“We are looking forward to a tough game against Scotland A. We’ve prepared well and will arrive ready for it.”
