Saturday’s game will be Gloucester-Hartpury’s second Kingsholm fixture of the season after their 41-7 win over Sale in January. Hunt says playing at Holm means a lot to the players.

“This place is so special; we had an unbelievable crowd last time at short notice and to have that many people out cheering for us is fantastic.

“We’re going to need all the help we can get against Saracens so to have the Gloucester faithful come and support us means everything.”

Last weekend, Gloucester-Hartpury’s fixture at the Alpas Arena against Wasps was postponed due to the visitors not having enough front-row cover. Although disappointed not to take to the field, Hunt is sympathetic to Wasps’ situation.

“We were gutted. We had a bit of rotation in our squad so it would have been awesome to see how the girls went. It’s always a real shame when you don’t get to play but my heart goes out to Wasps at the minute and we wish them all the best for their upcoming fixtures.”

But they didn’t let their energy go to waste, Hunt says her side had a great training session on Saturday which they hope will benefit them this week.

“The girls always dig together and pull through no matter what the circumstances and that’s why I love this group so much.

“We had a quality training session, the sun was shining, there were loads of girls around and it was a really good occasion. We got so much out of that session, and it gave us a springboard into this week against Saracens which will be hugely important.”
