Gloucester-Hartpury's influential co-captain, Mo Hunt, has been awarded the Rugby Players' Association's Premier 15s Player of the Season Award.

Hunt is a Gloucestershire native, having began her rugby journey at Forest of Dean club, Drybrook RFC.

She's represented England 60 times at international level and has also played for Team GB in sevens at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The 34-year-old has played a massive role in the Cherry & Whites securing their first-ever Allianz Premier 15s playoff spot this season.

She commented: "I am truly honoured to receive this award. I feel very fortunate to be in a team stacked full of world-class talent which makes my job easier. To everyone that voted, thank you so much, it means the world. I just love this sport and everyone involved in it."

Hunt has scored 7 tries in her 14 league appearances this season and leads the competition for try-assists with 23, which is 13 higher than the next best, and averages at 1.6 per game.

League-leading Gloucester-Hartpury host Harlequins at Kingsholm on Sunday, tickets for the fixture can be purchased here for just £10 for adults and £5 for children. 2022/23 Club Members can secure their tickets for just £1*. It's a crucial game for Hunt's side, who could secure a home semi-final with a win.

Elsewhere at the RPA Awards, Gloucester Rugby's Ed Slater was the co-recipient of the Blyth Spirit Award.

The Blyth Spirit Award recognises courage in the face of adversity.

Centre, Seb Aktinson, was named in the RPA's Under 23s MVP dream team for the Gallagher Premiership.
