Thanks to Gloucester Rugby Foundation working closely with Freemans Event Partners, a new public defibrillator has been installed at Kingsholm.

A defibrillator is a device that gives a high-energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high-energy shock is called defibrillation, and it's an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest. A defibrillator may also be called a defib, an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) or a PAD (Public Access Defibrillator).

Freemans Event Partners, have contributed to the purchase and installation of the defibrillator, which has been positioned on the wall outside the club shop and is available 24/7 to the public in case of emergency.

Gloucester Rugby's Head of Foundation, Helen Chu, is pleased to be able to assist the local community with the addition of another lifesaving defibrillator that can be accessible by anyone.

"We are delighted to be installing a new public defibrillator at Kingsholm, this wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of our partners, Freemans.

"The Gloucestershire community is at the forefront of everything we do here at Gloucester Rugby, so naturally we want to do everything we can to support the community's needs.

"We would like to encourage more people to become familiar with where your nearest defibrillator is, and how to use them because you never know when you might need to use one, and they do save lives."
