There’s just one more sleep until Gloucester-Hartpury’s first-ever Premier 15s final tomorrow.

Sean Lynn’s Cherry & Whites face Exeter Chiefs at ‘Queensholm’ as both teams look to get their hands on the trophy for the first time.

The Head Coach says it will be a special occasion.

“It’s pretty special, but even more special to be playing at Kingsholm and tickets are going really well so it will be great.”

Lynn said he knew the squad had the potential to reach the final at the start of the season, but it’s a credit to the mentality of the team to back that up and make it until the final week.

“The girls are really hungry. Over the summer we had a good recruitment drive and put a game plan in place that we felt could get us into that top four.

"I said after the final that what the girls are creating in the area for women’s rugby is special.”

Gloucester-Hartpury finished just a point above their West Country rivals in the regular season, and Lynn knows the danger that Exeter posses.

“We’re always excited when we play Exeter.

“Seven months ago we played Exeter away and it gave us good momentum for the league and then they beat us three weeks ago, but it’s knockout rugby and what happened before means nothing, it’s about what happens in the 80 minutes tomorrow.

“This week has been about making sure we tighten up a few things and nullifying the threats that we now Exeter Chiefs have.”

But the Welshman says they’re not changing the way they play, they have a clear identity and that’s what they’re sticking to.

“It’s who we are it’s the way we play.

“We have a really sharp attack but also, we take massive pride in our defence. We know we’re going to be challenged by Exeter, but we get excited for these challenges.

“The girls relish defending, coming off the line quickly and putting in big hits and transitioning that into attack.

“I’m pretty sure if the Shed is chanting then the girls will give something back to them and get the Kingsholm crowd on their feet.”

Lynn admits there’s never been a better stage for Gloucester-Hartpury to claim a maiden Premier 15s title.

“This is what it’s about. We’re very lucky to be playing an Allianz Premier 15s final at Kingsholm and we can’t wait until tomorrow.”
