Gloucester-Hartpury play their first game at Kingsholm this season when they host Sale Sharks Women in the Allianz Premier 15s on Saturday.

Head Coach, Sean Lynn, says playing at ‘Holm means a lot to the players, and hopes the Gloucester Rugby faithful turn up to support his side, who currently sit at the top of the league table.

“It’s very special, we’re really looking forward to playing at Kingsholm on Saturday. Hopefully the Gloucester ‘Shed Heads’ can come down this Saturday and support the girls, we would really, really appreciate it.”

Lynn expects an entertaining game at Kingsholm, with both sides coming off the back of wins last week.

“Sale are very physical, they’ve got some decent players in their back-line and they had a good win on the weekend against Wasps, so it’s a big encounter.”

Gloucester-Hartpury claimed an important win last time out against former Premier 15s winners, Harlequins, at the Stoop. Lynn was impressed with what he saw.

“I was very pleased. It was a great performance from the girls and to take some big scalps away from home in Exeter, Saracens and Quins is really good for us.”

The result was Gloucester-Hartpury’s closest league result of the season since their 17-25 win at Exeter in the first round. The Head Coach thinks they’ll learn a lot from the tight encounter.

“I said to the girls after the game about the heart they showed in that second-half when momentum wasn’t going our way, they just stuck at it.

We will take a lot of learnings from that game, and you need to in those tight games. Fair play to Harlequins they came at us, they were very physical.”

The win took Gloucester-Hartpury to eight wins from eight games in the league, but Lynn says he’s concentrating on one game at a time.

“It’s obviously great to go eight from eight but I leave that where it is. To me it was just about Gloucester-Hartpury going to Quins, first versus third in the league, and just enjoying that and the record looks after itself.

“It’s just about what we can do on that matchday, and we have a tough game against Sale this week.”
