Gloucester-Hartpury back, Sophie Bridger, will make the move from the Cherry & Whites to Premier 15s semi-finalists, Saracens, ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The centre/fly-half is a product of the Hartpury pathway, winning a BUCS Women's National League title under the tutorage of Gloucester-Hartpury co-captain Mo Hunt last season.

2022/23 was a breakout season for the 23-year-old. She was in brilliant form in the Allianz Cup at the start of the season, pushing herself into the Premier 15s side.

Bridger scored nine league tries in Cherry & White this season, including a spectacular solo score against her new club, Saracens, at Kingsholm in April.

Gloucester-Hartpury Head Coach, Sean Lynn, wishes Bridger all the best for the future.

"Sophie has had an excellent season for us and we are sorry to see her leave.

"Ultimately the draw of going to live in London was really important to Sophie, and we totally respect her reasoning for moving on.

"She's a big talent with a big future ahead of her, so we wish her the best.

"We're now just looking forward to seeing the next talent come through, and the continued success of the pathway."
