Gloucester Rugby is pleased to announce that Seb Atkinson has extended his contract at Kingsholm.

Atkinson joined the Cherry & Whites after leaving Worcester Warriors last November. The young centre had begun to make his mark in Worcester colours having made his senior debut against Gloucester in December 2021, followed by a string of Gallagher Premiership appearances.

Following his arrival at Kingsholm, Atkinson, 20, made his Cherry & Whites debut in the Premiership Cup fixture against Bristol, scoring a brilliant solo try to make his mark.

With a number of notable performances in the Premiership Rugby Cup, Atkinson has since become regular component of the Cherry & White midfield this season, with 12 appearances to his name across all competitions.

Gloucester Rugby Head Coach, George Skivington has been pleased by Atkinson’s development in Cherry and White.

“Seb came in mid-season and we’ve been really impressed by his drive and ambition to develop his game. He’s grasped the opportunities in front of him to play regular senior rugby and that’s credit to how he’s immersed himself into the environment since arriving.

“He’s a mature young man with a big future ahead of him. He’s still only 20, so he’s an exciting prospect for us and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop further in a Cherry & White shirt.”
