Wheelchair Rugby

Our Gloucester Wheelchair Rugby Club was launched in 2014 with sponsorship support from EDF Energy and Lanes Health, and since then the Club have grown from strength to strength.

The partnership has seen the creation of our Gloucester Wheelchair Rugby Club running weekly sessions with both a Juniors and a Senior Team, creating opportunities for all disabled people to be active and involved in the exciting upcoming sport. These sessions are currently being held at Barnwood Park Sports Hall every Wednesday evening. Our senior team are currently competing in a Southern League Tournament where they are currently sitting in the middle of the table.

As well as the opportunities we provide for our Wheelchair Rugby Club, the Gloucester Rugby Foundation also runs a School Wheelchair Programme throughout Gloucestershire that allows children to experience a new sport and have an understanding how some people live from day to day. We run sessions in both mainstream and special schools.
