Gloucester Rugby scored five tries in their 40-24 victory against Wasps in their first home game of the season.
It was an all-out try fest! Jack Singleton, Matt Garvey, Joe Simpson, Jason Woodward and Billy Twelvetrees all got over for a tries in what was a great attacking display from George Skivington’s men.
For much of the game it was a tight and tense affair, but in the second half the Cherry and Whites were able to open up and attack the gaps in Wasps defence.
It was 13-5 at the break which shows how much it opened up in the second 40 minutes.
Ollie Thorley was back in action for Gloucester Rugby after spending some time away training with England and make blistering breaks for fun throughout the game. Mark Atkinson was physical in attack and defence and George Skivington will be pleased with how his replacements performed when they came on.
Wasps were tough opposition for the Cherry and Whites and managed to score a losing bonus point by scoring four tries. Michael Le Bourgeois, Alfie Barbeary and two Paolo Odogwu scores mean that Wasps don’t go away empty handed.
Key moment – Billy Twelvetrees’s try
It was the perfect intercept. Twelvetrees snatched the ball out of Wasps hands and went half the length of the pitch to score!
Gloucester Rugby are back in action next weekend and will host Harlequins at Kingsholm on December 6 with 2000 fans in attendance.
