What happened?
It was nail biting from start to finish but Gloucester Rugby did enough to pinch the win, the second Cherry and White victory in a row.
It was a promising start for Gloucester Rugby who were by far the stronger team early on. A try from Santiago Socino, his first for Gloucester Rugby in his first start for the club, put the Cherry and Whites ahead and a conversion from George Barton made sure it was the full seven point score.
Gloucester Rugby were then dealt a blow as Ollie Thorley was red carded for a high tackle.
Next to leave the field was Wasps’ Malakai Fekitoa who was yellow carded for starting some pushing and shoving.
The Cherry and Whites used the time well and George Barton extended Gloucester Rugby’s lead through a penalty.
Just before half time Billy Twelvetrees put Lewis Ludlow in a gap who then offloaded to Chris Harris who went over to score. Barton’s conversion meant Gloucester Rugby went into the break 17-0 up.
After the break Wasps looked the better side and were making good use of their extra man advantage.
James Gaskell, Rob Miller and Josh Bassett all scored for the hosts and with Jimmy Gopperth on the pitch taking the kicks, Wasps took the lead.
However, with just minutes on the clock, Billy Twelvetrees slotted a penalty giving Gloucester Rugby the win at the death.

With just minutes on the clock, Gloucester Rugby were two points down. However a massive effort at the scrum led to a penalty which Twelvetrees slotted to take the lead.

Gloucester Rugby are back in action next weekend when Leicester Tigers travel to Kingsholm for Round 13 of the Gallagher Premiership.
