It was a tough game for Hartpury RFC who lost 42-19 to the Bedford Blues last weekend.
Despite the result, Ciaran Knight had a great game and made an excellent contribution to Hartpury’s first try, making a 25-metre run before putting the ball out the back to Robbie Smith for an easy run in.
Cameron Jordan and Jack Stanley also put in good performances, but ultimately it was Hartpury’s ill discipline which kept the visitors on the front foot for most of the second 40.
Reece Dunn came on off the bench in Ampthill’s narrow 18-20 loss to Doncaster Knights on Saturday.
Having led 18-3 at halftime, Ampthill let Doncaster back into the game with two tries in the final five minutes completing a remarkable comeback win.
The Championship side are now 8th in the table having won two of their six games so far this season.
Hartpury BUCS were on the losing end of a narrow 15-13 result to Cardiff University RFC.
Joe Howard, Isaac Marsh and Danny Eite all started and had good games with Ethan Hunt and Conor Murphy coming on from the bench.
