Gloucester Rugby were well represented across the globe as the summer tours and competitions start to heat up.
Four Gloucester Rugby players were called upon to represent England U20 in their 24-15 win against Ireland. Jack Clement put in a Man of the Match performance and started alongside fellow Gloucester Rugby player, Arthur Clark with Freddie Thomas and Josh Gray amongst the replacements.
Keeping their Grand Slam hopes alive, England U20 takes on Wales U20 on July 7.
Gloucester Rugby’s Giorgi Kveseladze was in action on Friday night when South Africa defeated Georgia 40-9. Despite the score, Kveseladze was physical in defence putting in a number of big hits against the reigning world champions who take on the British and Irish Lions later in the summer.
Gloucester Rugby were proud to see the captain of the Cherry and Whites, Lewis Ludlow, lead England to a 43-29 victory over the USA at Twickenham on Sunday. Captaining Eddie Jones’ side, Ludlow led from the front and put in an effort to be proud of in the white jersey. He will hope to be in contention for England’s game against Canada next weekend.
British and Irish Lions
It didn’t take long for Chris Harris and Louis Rees-Zammit to make an impact in the British and Irish Lions’ 56-14 victory over the Lions in the first game on South African soil in this year’s tour.
Making their debuts, the opening try was one made at Kingsholm when Harris chipped the ball to Rees-Zammit who collected to go over to score under the posts.
The two Gloucester Rugby players on the tour represented the club well and will be hoping to be back in action when the side play the Sharks on Wednesday.
