Ahead of the forthcoming Tyrrells Premier 15s campaign, Gloucester-Hartpury Women are delighted to confirm that England international prop Ellena Perry has joined the club from Saracens Women.
It’s a return to familiar territory for El who took her A Levels at Hartpury College before continuing her studies at Coventry University.
She started playing tag rugby at the age of 6 after watching England win the World Cup in 2003 and went on to represent Hertfordshire County and South East at both U15 and U18’s level.
She attended Hartpury College to complete her A-Level studies alongside the Women’s rugby programme. During this time El was selected for the England U20s side for three consecutive seasons.
When she turned 18, El started playing senior rugby for Saracens, including playing in a Premiership Final at the age of 18, where she stayed until moving to Gloucester-Hartpury this summer.
In November 2018, El was capped for the first time for the England Women’s team and has just returned back from the Women’s Super Rugby Series in San Diego when England took on Canada, New Zealand and hosts USA.
