Billy Twelvetrees

15 Nov 1988
Chichester England

Billy Twelvetrees joined Gloucester Rugby from the Leicester Tigers ahead of the 2012-13 season.

A British and Irish Lion and England International, he possesses an ideal mix of size and skill for a midfield player. He has a fine boot when kicking out of hand and is a more than capable goal kicker. He quickly impressed with Gloucester Rugby and earned a call up to England's Elite Player Squad for the 2013 Six Nations, making his debut against Scotland at Twickenham, scoring a try in the process.

A fine first season was reflected in his selection for the England tour of Argentina. He scored a try in the first test before being called up to the British & Irish Lions squad.

Billy was named club captain of the Cherry and Whites ahead of the 2014-15 season and continued in that role in 2015-16.

The 2020/21 season was another fine year for Twelvetrees who filled in at fly-half when called upon. Scoring 104 points this season in 19 appearances, Twelvetrees’ highlight will no doubt be when he kicked the winning penalty with the clock in red against London Irish. A true night to remember at Kingsholm with the fans back in attendance.
