Matt Garvey joined Gloucester Rugby from Bath halfway through the 2019/20 season. He made over 100 appearances for the West Country rivals and captained the club on multiple occasions.

The lock, who is also able to play flanker, brought his experience and leadership with him and made an immediate impact in the Cherry and White shirt where he has established himself as a regular starter for Gloucester Rugby. He is a consistent performer who operates at the highest-level week in week out.
