50/50 Raffle

Gloucester Rugby is proud to announce a unique opportunity for Rugby fans from all over the world to support a worthy, charitable cause and to participate in an opportunity to win some wonderful prizes.

Gloucester Rugby can now confirm that they are using a unique online platform, managed by the Swedish software developers, Wespons, who developed the only online 50/50 Raffle platform authorised by the UK Gambling Commission.

This unique technology is authorised to conduct an online 50/50 Raffle for the benefit of charities around the UK.

A 50/50 Raffle Draw is a lottery in which the prize is one half of the value of all tickets sold during the event. The purchaser buys a ticket to receive a unique number and a ticket stub is produced with the same number that are placed in the draw for a chance to claim the winning pot.

The software contains an algorithm that randomly selects a winning number that can then be claimed by the holder of that ticket stub either online or in person.

Apart from the fantastic opportunity to win a large cash prize, all the participants in this raffle will also be given chance to win discretionary prizes awarded by Gloucester Rugby.

These may include a match day shirt or ball, possibly even a hospitality upgrade to a match during the season. These will be announced as and when before each game over social media.

Most importantly the proceeds from this initiative go to the great work being done by Adam Balding and the staff at the Gloucester Rugby Community Charity. Each draw will target a specific cause that the funds will be used to support.

The Gloucester Rugby Community Charity holds the mission statement to change the lives of young people through rugby, and is focused around four key areas, with their work aiming to encourage action with being healthy, being active, being smart and being included.

These four key areas are just a taster of the mission statements and targets set out by the Gloucester Rugby Community Charity, and you can find out more about the team, our programmes and the latest news across on their work in Gloucestershire.

The website has been put together thanks to local business Brobuild and is now live at the following address – http://www.gloucesterrugbycommunitycharity.co.uk
