The Rugby Manager is responsible for managing all services and functions required to support the administration and operation of the Playing Department.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
0 Planning and management of the Playing Department budget
0 Salary Cap submission
0 Control of playing support expenditures, including expenses
0 Preparation of monthly reports for the Board
• TEAM AFFAIRS
0 Sourcing and identifying most appropriate methods of travel/accommodation
0 Oversee all 1st XV travel, including matchdays and training camps
0 Accompany 1st XV to all matches/camps
0 Full and detailed knowledge of all competition and tournament protocol, including playing regulations, discipline and anti-doping
0 Manage kit supplier relationship and allocation
• PLAYER RECRUITMENT
0 Liaison/negotiation with agents upon instruction of Director of Rugby
0 Contract fulfillment
0 Visa/work permit applications
• CLUB REPRESENTATION
0 Represent Gloucester Rugby on various groups, including with PRL, RFU and ERC
0 Deputise as appropriate for Director of Rugby at various meetings
0 Full understanding of relevant regulations
• EMPLOYMENT/STAFF MANAGEMENT
0 Line manager to support staff in Playing Department
0 Co-ordination and integration of fitness/medical/analysis/academy and coaching
0 Full responsibility for all personnel issues
0 Player issue management
• DISCIPLINE
0 Responsible for ensuring players/staff comply with discipline standards
0 Administering appropriate disciplinary procedures, both internal and with RFU

0 Educated to degree level.
BACKGROUND
0 Personal circumstances must allow the candidate to work extended hours during times of peak activity, particularly throughout the English rugby season.
0 Must be able and prepared to travel extensively, both within the UK and abroad, and have a valid UK driving licence.

0 Must have a good knowledge of the structure and operation of Rugby Union in England.
