The board will now consist of David McKnight, two owners in the shape of Ryan Walkinshaw and Martin St Quinton, non executive board members Wayne Humphries and David Grainger and board members Ken Nottage and Chris Ferguson.
David McKnight brings a huge amount of business acumen to the boardroom table notably from his role with the James Grant Group, one of the world's leading sports representation agencies, providing management services and expert advice.
David Grainger also possesses a vast amount of business experience. A long time friend of the Walkinshaw family, he has been associated with the club for over 20 years and was a trusted associate of Tom Walkinshaw.
Ryan Walkinshaw speaks glowingly of both the new men. On David McKnight:
"He is one of the few men my dad truly trusted, and dad always said he would want David involved if anything were to happen.
"He was the first person we approached and he came straight back with a positive response, so it went from there.
"He has a vast amount of experience and knowledge of the rugby world and the workings of rugby clubs. He will mentor me and help me to learn the roles, responsibilities and tasks that are required."
And, on David Grainger:
"David is someone who has been involved for a long time and knows the club inside out. His strength lies in his ability to cut through a lot of waffle and simplify situations very clearly.
"He really knows his rugby and he knows how things work here. He understands the club, the history and the future direction.
"When we're all taking things down very complicated and sometimes convoluted paths, his ability to cut to the chase is invaluable."
Ken Nottage, Gloucester Rugby's Managing Director, has known the new chairman for a long time.
"I've known David for about 15 years now, going back to my time at Newcastle when he worked in the field of player recruitment amongst other things and he's moved on to other senior roles. He brings a unique set of skills to the board."
"He's been appointed by our Board of Directors to be our Non Executive Chairman which means he'll be responsible for running our board meetings. He's a great addition to the board as are our other new directors."
