GWAS has stationed an ambulance crew - either a single manned rapid response vehicle (RRV) or double manned ambulance - in a bespoke area at Gloucester's Kingsholm ground ready to respond to call outs in the City.
The agreement follows similar arrangements that GWAS have brokered in the past with Cheltenham Racecourse and Tescos at the Gloucester Business Park in Brockworth.
Ian Main the Divisional Commander of GWAS explained that the arrangement was made all the easier by the fact that GWAS already work closely with Gloucester Rugby.
"It builds on the existing relationship that we have with Gloucester Rugby as we support them with ambulance cover on matchdays."
"So, in conjunction with the club, we've worked up a model that allows our crews access to some safe and comfortable facilities whilst on stand by in the heart of Gloucester which allows us to provide a rapid response to public calls for an emergency ambulance."

"We can now reach most parts of Gloucester within the eight minute timescale that we aim to achieve. It's also just around the corner from Gloucester Royal Hospital which is very important."
Sean Roberts, Operations Manager at Gloucester Rugby
"The fact that we already have an existing relationship with the Ambulance Service has given us first hand experience of the importance of their work and it was relatively straightforward to accommodate them as we already have a designated first aid point here and rest room."
"It's been a mutually beneficial relationship up to this point and we hope continues to be so for many years to come."
