It will be quite some occasion for both players and Wood is delighted that a quality opposition will be facing Gloucester on the day.
"Cardiff will be a quality opposition on the day. We've played them several times in the various cup competitions over the past few seasons and there's always that Anglo-Welsh rivalry to consider.
"Apart from the Sevens, it will also be the first chance for the Gloucester public to see the new look side in action. It should be a really competitive game and we're obviously going to be looking to put down a bit of a marker for the new season."
And the 29 year old prop, preparing for his 10th season with the club, explained that he and Brown are looking to offer some different matchday options.
"We are looking to make it a little bit different for anyone who wants a slightly different matchday experience.
"We should have a ticket option where people will be able to donate a little bit extra and get a pie and a pint included .
"Then stay on for an evening event in the 1873 Suite where there will be a Q&A session with various people and a chance to meet some of the new boys like Ben Morgan and Billy Twelvetrees etc."
Tickets are now available and are just £17 for an adult seating and £12 for an adult standing; junior concessions are also available. Season ticket holders are reminded that they will receive a £2 discount.
