Nutrition X, the official supplement suppliers to Gloucester Rugby, joined the event to educate young people about the science behind sports nutrition.
James Markey, Managing Director, said:
"All sorts of dietary supplements claim to make you faster, stronger, more energized and slimmer. Athletes train hard to reach their peak performance, so products that offer an edge can be enticing. It is important to know what you are taking and what effects it can have. A sports dietician can assist in evaluating sports supplements and ergogenic aids".
He added:
"Nutrition X has all products 'HFL Tested' to ensure that athletes competing in regular high standard sport are taking accredited, safe and recognised supplements.
"We offer a small but precise product range, to take the confusion away of having a variety of products to choose from for the same training goal. The products have been formulated by some of the top nutritionists in the UK and are designed for athletes participating in regular high intensity sport and training".
Gloucester players, Rupert Harden and Matt Cox, went along and said:
"It is very important for the players to have a good nutrition plan which can support our training and improve performance. Eating right allows the body to adapt to training, helps aid recovery after exercise and attain peak performance".
