It will give the successful applicant the opportunity to taste working life in an Aviva Premiership club and gain valuable on the job experience.
Possessing a unique heritage and history, Gloucester Rugby prides itself on being a club at the heart of its community, a club which oozes passion for the game in every area, from the players, to the staff and the supporters.
The position will suit a student looking to fill a year long work placement, or a recent graduate looking to break into the sports PR / media industry.
Duties will include:
Writing copy and helping to produce Gloucester Rugby matchday programme, official website and commercial literature
Helping to run the Gloucester Rugby press office, both during the week and on a matchday
General PR administration
Writing second team match reports (travelling with team to the away games on occasion)
The suitable candidate will possess excellent writing skills, a good eye for detail and have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; therefore, experience in journalism and/or producing publications would be beneficial.
Also experience in filming and editing video interviews would be desirable.
Knowledge of Gloucester Rugby and rugby union in general would be an advantage, but not essential.
Please note that this role will involve working at weekends and some unsocialable hours.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain considerable skills and experience across a number of PR fields, as well as working alongside the Marketing, Community and Commercial departments within one of the world's best known rugby clubs.
