Todd Gleave agrees new contract to remain with Gloucester Rugby
5 June 2019
The Gallagher Premiership season may have just come to a close, but Gloucester Rugby’s preparations for next season continue with the news that hooker Todd Gleave has extended his stay with the club.
Gleave, who turned 24 this week, joined Gloucester Rugby from London Irish ahead of the 2018-19 season and made five first team appearances in his first season with the club.
Having initially signed on a one-year contract, he made enough of an impression during that season to earn a new contract and told the Gloucester Rugby website that he’s delighted to remain in Cherry and White.
“Last season was a memorable one for the club and, although I wasn’t able to contribute as much as I would like due to injury, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Gloucester Rugby so far.
“There is so much potential within the squad, a real sense of togetherness within the group and a genuine desire to build on what we achieved last season.
“I’m really looking forward to reporting back for preseason and putting in some hard work so that I can play my part in what will hopefully be another exciting and successful season.”
And Director of Rugby David Humphreys confirmed the significance of securing Gleave’s services again.
“We know from our experience this season that every squad needs depth in the specialist positions. We’re delighted that Todd has extended his stay with Gloucester and look forward to him developing his game further over the next 12 months.”
