Academy link with Gloucester-Hartpury Women ahead of finals day

The Gloucester Rugby Academy are heading into Finals Day in the U18's league.

Ahead of the final day of the tournament, the U18 team linked up with Gloucester-Hartpury women during the week in a shared training session on the Kingsholm pitch.

The women's team prepared for their weekend fixture, which was eventually cancelled due to bad weather, whilst the U18's benefitted from a match environment before they head into the final weekend of their season.

This was the first time the two sides have trained together, but it won't be the last, as both sides are now making it a weekly Thursday occurrence.

U18's Head Coach, Matt Teague spoke about the importance of using club facilities and working with the various teams within the club to help better the U18s development:

"It's a great opportunity for all involved and was fantastic to have two teams training together and harnessing their performances.

"It was a great chance to build unit development and game scenarios and train at intensity with Gloucester-Hartpury Women".

Gloucester-Hartpury Head Coach, Sean Lynn was pleased that both sides could benefit from the session:

"It was great to have the U18 academy boys out with us ahead of their finals day.

They brought some great energy to the session and were great to play against and build some momentum from".
