Gloucester Rugby host Harlequins in the Gallagher Premiership on Sunday and ahead of the fixture we sat down with Adam Hastings who previewed the fixture.
On Bath win
"It was my first experience of the West Country derby down here for Gloucester Rugby but derby games are always funny because no matter what team is in form, they are usually fairly niggly affairs. Last weekend was no different. The scoreboard didn’t reflect on how the boys were feeling after the game. We were battered and bruised but obviously delighted to have come away with a healthy win."
On the success fo the maul
“It’s awesome! The way the maul is going, we see all of the hard work that they are putting in in training day in day out. It’s great to see the rewards. When they get that thing going forward, it’s lovely as a 10 to just be in that arm chair riding behind. It’s been enjoyable!”
On settling into the club
“It’s been awesome. Since I first came to the club the boys have been brilliant with me and I feel like I’m settling into the team a bit more now. I’m finding my feet and playing at Kingsholm has been awesome. The fans are some of the loudest I’ve heard and they are completely mental to be honest! It’s been good fun being here.”
“They’ve got some very electric players. The back three especially are pretty dangerous when they get their hands on the ball so we will have to make sure we are taking care of business when we are defending.”
On playing at Kingsholm
“It’s massively exciting. Any time we play a home game we get that extra itch for it and it’s easy to get up for. The run along the touchline next to the Shed that we do before the game is amazing so I can’t wait for that again.”
